Federal Mint — A settlement in
While the polis - or city-state - was the most common type of state in Ancient Greece, many Greek city-states also found it useful to form confederations, etiher as a sort og proto-nation state or for a particular purpose.

Some of the most important and successful leagues also used the same currency with the same imagery, much like the Euro is now in use in most of Europe.
For some of the coins struck by the leagues, we are left with no clue as to where exactly in the federation they were minted - and so we can only say that the mint was one of several federal mints.
